Cross-KICs fight water scarcity, boost circular economy & promote entrepreneurship
Some of our innovation activities span across several of EIT’s Innovation Communities. The Cross-KIC projects are a way for EIT Manufacturing to contribute to solutions addressing major global challenges such as sustainability and climate change, to name a few examples.
Fighting Water Scarcity in Southern Europe: Water plays an important role in mitigating and even decelerate climate change. Short of hundred experts and practitioners have applied to take part in building a body of knowledge and define concrete actions.
Circular Economy: This Cross-KIC activity aims at ensuring a coordinated approach across all EIT Innovation Communities to ensure resource efficiency and zero waste to promote a circular economy across Europe.
The activity also includes the creation of a tool, Environmental Technology Verification (ETV), which has been designed to to help innovative environmental technologies access the market. It consists of the verification, on a voluntary basis, of the functional and environmental performance of technology by qualified third parties, through tests of controlled quality. The end product is an ETV Statement of Verification published on the ETV website and used in business-to-business relations.
The new edition of the one of the most well-known European pre-accelerator programs is welcoming applications until April 5. The program is designed for early-stage innovators who want to gain traction and support to validate their business concept, develop a business plan, and pitch ideas to future investors.
