Localization and Visualization of Contaminations in Manufacturing by Spectral Vision
The aim of this activity is to bring a new manufacturing process quality inspection solution to perform an automated inline check for surface contaminations of workpieces in production and provide visualized AR-feedback to the workers to the market. The quality inspection solution is based on hyperspectral imaging and analysis technology from Siemens and AR-visualization-technology from CEA. It goes beyond current state of the art because it combines an advanced non-contact optical material identification method with visual AR-feedback for manual post-inspection and reworking. In addition it provides thorough high quality data for the enhancement of up-stream processes. It will be commercialized by a partner that will be involved as activity partner in second year. The role of Whirlpool and Volvo is to act as a first user to help adapt the solution to the market. Other markets such as consumer goods, buildings will contribute to scaling up the solution after the project.
